IAF AFCAT Eligibility 2024

Nationality
The candidate must be a citizen of India in order to apply for AFCAT 2024.

Age Limit
To join the Indian Air Force the age limit prescribed for the AFCAT exam varies for different branches. For :
Flying Branch
The age of the candidate should be between 20 to 24 years of age.
Candidates having a Commercial Pilot License get a high age limit to 26 years.
Ground Duty (Technical and Non - Technical)
The age limit for the ground duty is between 20 to 26 years.
The DOB mentioned in the Matriculation or Secondary School Leaving Certificate or a certificate recognized by an Indian University will only get accepted by the IAF.

Marital Status

Widows/Widowers or divorcees below 25 years of age are not eligible for the AFCAT exam.
Candidates below 25 years should be unmarried at the time of commencement of the course.
Married candidates above 25 years are eligible to apply for the AFCAT exam 2024. At the time of the training period, candidates are neither provided married accommodation nor they can live with the family.

Educational Qualifications

The candidate must have passed class 12th with Physics, Mathematics, and English with 50% in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
Candidates must have graduated with a three years Diploma Course in Engineering in any stream, with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
Candidates must be 10th Pass with National Apprenticeship (NAC) granted by NCVT or 10th pass with ITI from any Institution recognized by NCVT/SCVT.

Physical and Medical Standard
Candidates who have applied for the AFCAT exam 2024 must qualify for the required qualification in terms of physical and medical fitness. They should be medically and physically fit to perform their duties and responsibilities properly.
